“A rare generational talent…”
-Lynn Harrell
Recipient of the Kronberg Academy’s Landgraf von Hessen Prize and a laureate of the Fondation Gautier Capuçon, Canadian cellist Michael Song has garnered recognition for his uncompromising depth and sheer command of the instrument.
Upcoming dates.
Soloist Michael Song joins the Frascati Symphonic in Sergei Prokofiev’s monumental Sinfonia Concertante, written for the famous cellist Mstislav Rostropovich.
A unique mix of symphony and concert, in which he combines symphonic grandeur with solo bravado. We start with the subdued Hymn 2001 by Ukrainian Valentin Silvestrov and the world premiere of Obstinatio 4, a tribute to Dmitri Shostakovich.
